Important Notice about China Hong Kong and Macao Visa
    Starting from 1st May, 2019, those who apply visas for the Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR of China are kindly requested to submit applications via Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC). The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Milan will no longer accept this type of visa applications directly. Details are as follows:

1. Applicants could submit their China Hong Kong/Macao visa applications to the Consulate through the CVASC, or directly submit their visa applications to the Immigration Department of Hong Kong SAR (www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services/visas/visit-transit/visit-visa-entry-permit.html ) or the Immigration Department of the Public Security Police Force of Macao SAR (www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/eng/psp_top5_2_1.html ).
Chinese citizens who apply for entry permits to Hong Kong, still need to submit their applications to The Embassy or the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China.

2. Regarding the visa exemption policies of China Hong Kong or Macao SAR, please refer to the official website of the Immigration Department of Hong Kong SAR (www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services/visas/visit-transit/visit-visa-entry-permit.html ) or the Immigration Department of the Public Security Police Force of Macao SAR (www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/eng/psp_top5_2_1.html ).

3. Fees: Besides visa fees and express fees which are charged on behalf of the Consulate, the CVASC charges service fees. Please visit the CVASC’s official website (www.visaforchina.org ) or consult directly the CVASC for detailed fee information.

4. Processing time: For regular service, it normally takes 4 business days after submission of an application. Express service should be approved by a consular officer and is to be charged extra fees. However, some applications need to be forwarded to Hong Kong or Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) for approval. The processing time may be extended around 4 weeks.


5. Whether or not a visa could be issued is decided by a consular officer. The CVASC is not participating in any approval process.


6. The diplomatic, service (special or official) passport holders, those who apply for diplomatic, official or courtesy visas, and the Chinese citizens who apply for entry permits to Hong Kong, still need to submit their applications to The Embassy or the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China.
